The hills of Sahel Alma stepping down to the Mediterranean at Jounieh

Where we are

Sahel Alma, Jounieh — on the slope between the coast road and Harissa.

The map

High enough to see the whole bay

Sahel Alma is the hillside village directly above Jounieh. You are minutes from the marina and the restaurants along the water, and far enough up the slope that the noise stays down there.

The neighbourhood

What is around you

Jounieh is the busiest stretch of the Keserwan coast: a working marina, a long seafront of restaurants and cafés, and the téléphérique that lifts you from the bay up to the shrine at Harissa in a few minutes.

Sahel Alma itself is quieter — a hillside village of stone houses and convents that looks down on all of it. Beirut is close enough for a day, Byblos close enough for an afternoon, and the mountains behind you open up in winter.
